Keeping things straight forward so that you can understand when using V-Active Sports Therapy as a service.
These are the terms of business on which V-Active Sports Therapy (“we”, “us” or “our”) provides a sports massage service to you. Please make sure that you have read and fully understand these terms and conditions before you book a treatment with us.
Appointment booking and cancellation
We will provide you with an email confirmation of the time and date of your sports massage appointment. If you do not give an email address or give an incorrect email address when making the appointment booking, you will not receive this email confirmation. A COVD-19 Declaration will be sent separately and must be completed and sent back prior to your treatment. Without this declaration, a treatment cannot go ahead.
You can cancel or reschedule your appointment no less than 24 hours before the time of your appointment. We reserve the right to charge a minimum fee equivalent to the cost of the treatment (£31, £40 or £50) for failing to attend your appointment, not notifying us of your intention not to attend or providing less than 24 hours’ notice. By booking an appointment with V-Active Sports Therapy, you agreeing to these cancellation terms.
A late attendance for an appointment will result in a shorter appointment time being offered, or the appointment being rescheduled for another time and date. The therapist has a right to refuse a treatment if they feel that an appropriate treatment cannot be provided in the time left. A minimum equivalent fee of the cost of the treatment will be charged for late appointments where appropriate treatment cannot be provided or appointments that require rescheduling with less than 24 hours notice.
Payment for your treatment is made on the day of your appointment. Card payments or cash are accepted methods of payment.
Suitability of sports massage treatment with us
There are some potential contraindications to having a sports massage treatment, this will be discussed on your first appointment, or if this occurs later in a course of treatment, then it will be re-evaluated and you will be informed if it is no longer appropriate to continue with your treatment. Any contraindications highlighted may require a GP’s referral for permission to provide a sports massage in order to protect you. These conditions include circulatory issues or cancer treatment.
It is normal for you to feel some muscle soreness, aching and bruising as a result of deep manipulative therapy to the soft tissues (skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments) and this will pass as part of the recovery process. At the time of your consultation you are consenting to treatment that may leave marks or bruising. Sports massage contains a number of techniques which the therapist is qualified in providing. These will always be discussed prior to being applied however you maintain the right to refuse a technique.
I will always be honest and open with you if it is not appropriate for you to have a sports massage treatment. I am not a medically trained professional and cannot provide a diagnosis of medical conditions or diseases during or following a treatment.
Liability
V-Active Sports Therapy will not be liable for any financial loss or loss of personal possessions, as a result of, or in connection with the provision of services to you. We will not be liable for any damage that may be caused as a result of your failure to disclose medical details that may, for example, make treatment inappropriate.
We will not be liable for any muscle soreness, bruising and discolouration of the skin, following a sports massage treatment, as this is quite normal (see previous section-suitability).
Any material found within the V-Active Sports Therapy website, including text or images may not be copied, reproduced, republished, downloaded, posted, broadcast or transmitted without the express permission of V-Active Sports Therapy.
We may publish links to external independent websites, however, V-Active Sports Therapy cannot be held responsible for the content of those websites. By linking to other websites does not indicate that V-Active Sports Therapy agrees with any claims, statements or opinions published by those sites.
The names, images and logos identifying V-Active Sports Therapy, or third parties and their products and services are proprietary marks of V-Active Sports Therapy and/or third parties.
